FTC levels up during Weeks of Welcome (WOW)

Five Towns College’s Spring 2025 Weeks Of Welcome (WOW) continued with the Level Up Lounge, which turned the Downbeat into a game room complete with arcade machines, classic board games, and snacks.
Students could pick between four different arcade machines to play, including The Fast And The Furious racing game, Pac-Man Battle Royale Chompionship, Mario Bros., and Multicade, as well as a plethora of classic board games such as Monopoly and Jenga. Many of the games were multiplayer, which added to the friendly competition. “Pac-Man is cool; it wasn’t just a one-player; it was four people playing at the same time, and I never played that game before,” said Business major Alicia Kerney.
While gaming, students snacked on Philly Pretzel Factory favorites, such as pretzels and pigs in a blanket, along with several dip choices.
Level Up Lounge was a way for students to relax and catch up with friends in the first week back from winter break while returning to the school routine and navigating their new classes. Music Performance major Brandon Smith felt the retro-ness attracted students to the event. “It’s a new thing, even though it’s an old thing, and just the opportunity to spend time with friends and play some retro games in the Downbeat; it’s pretty cool.”
Spring 2025 WOW events continue next week, concluding with a pajama party on Thursday, January 23rd. Follow @FTC_Events on Instagram to keep up with the events happening around campus.
