SGA APRIL MEETING HIGHLIGHTS UPCOMING ELECTIONS

On April 20th, an Open Student Government Association (SGA) meeting took place in the Downbeat Cafe. SGA VP Jeff Kramer highlights the key takeaways.

Here are the key takeaways from the meeting:

1.SGA Elections: 

  • Voting begins on Tuesday, May 2nd, and will be open for 72 hours until Thursday, May 4th.
  • To vote, scan the QR code below that lists all the candidates running to represent the student body. 
  • An Election Forum will be held on Tuesday, May 2nd, in TV Studio 400 during Common Hour. Candidates will state why they are running and their plans if elected.

 

2.Upcoming Cub Events:

  • The Sports Broadcasting Club NFL Draft Party – Thursday, April 27th, at 7:30 pm in TV Studio 400.
  • Rainbow Room’s Bake Sale to support the Trevor Project– Thursday, May 4th, during Common Hour in the Upbeat.
  • The Billiards Club Pool Tournament- Monday, May 1st, at 5:30 pm in the Downbeat.

3.Student Senators:

  • SGA seeks Senators in the following academic areas: Theatre, IMA, and Audio. Interested students should reach out to SGA members.
  • SGA Music Senator Katie Katsoros raised the possibility of starting a petition to bring in more diverse music groups and more open mics.

Open Floor Items:

FTC students want the following Upbeat dining enhancements: returning the salad bar, lowering the plexiglass, and increasing the variety of meats.
