FTC’s ‘As You Like It’ Delights on Opening Night

Five Towns College’s Theatre presentation of “As You Like It” by William Shakespeare and directed by Dr. David Krasner was a success on opening night on May 6th. The play creatively brought the audience back to the era of disco.

“As You Like It” started with ‘Perfect’ by Ed Sheeran, instantly setting the tone of the play. The comedy transitioned with musical gusto during every scene switch. The audience was filled with laughter, applause, and joy as they watched the talented cast play their roles perfectly.

FTC Reporter Tomas Guevara spoke to FTC Theatre Chair and Director Dr. David Krasner about the mood of the production and why he wanted Five Towns students to perform this Shakespearean classic.

At the end of the play, the cast and crew received a standing ovation from the large audience in attendance.

“As You Like It” is a must-see, and tickets for students and staff are free.

The performances continue Saturday, May 7th, at 7:30 pm, and Sunday, May 8th, at 3:00 pm.
