Laser Tag lights up the Sound Arena

The FTC Sound Arena lights were dimmed on Monday night for the last event of September, the much-anticipated Laser Tag. Students were split into two groups and played six-minute rounds with the goal of accumulating the most collective points. An inflatable course was set up so participants could hide or sneak up on opponents. Cold water and Gatorade were provided for anyone out of breath from the exhilarating contest.
While the goal was to get the most team points, players also got to see who earned the most individual points each game and took it as a personal challenge. “I just scored 79,590 points,” said Mass Comm student Daniel Garcia, who had been hyping up how good he was throughout the game. “The second closest to me was 41,565. I think my score speaks for itself.”
Laser Tag was a great way for students to have a good time on much dreaded Monday, letting everyone run around and get out their energy. “I had a lot of fun with the variety of ways [to win],” said Film & TV major Vito Margino, who also worked hard at improving his game technique and strategy.
Though Weeks of Welcome (WOW) have come to a close, FTC events won’t be going anywhere, according to Student Activities Coordinator Natalie Allouche. “We also have so many more events to look forward to. Hall Olympics is starting next month, as well as Stage. CAB (Campus Activities Board) has so many amazing events they are working on. We have a Halloween party that they are currently working on. We’re looking to have one big event per month, so we can bring the fun to students and continue to have people come out to our events.”
