Five Towns College Career Services will host an employer networking event on April 16th to help students connect with potential employers.

Throughout March, Career Services offered several job readiness workshops to ensure that attendees are prepared to network effectively.

Director of Career Services Kristi O’Rourke discussed the importance of the informational sessions. “We explain a little bit about what the career fair is like and what the students should expect. And we talk about how to prepare and what you need to have a successful experience at the career fair.”

FTC Career Services guides students through the basics or resume building, business casual dress, and making introductions to employers.

Mass Comm Senior Jeff Kramer, who has attended previous Employer Networking Events, values the opportunity to network while staying on campus. “I think it’s important for students to attend events like networking fairs because it forces them to step out of their comfort zones and into an environment where they can showcase their personalities to companies they’re interested in. You really never know what those connections can ultimately lead to and mean for your career.”

The Employer Networking Event will be held on Wednesday, April 16th, from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM in the Downbeat. Kristi O’Rourke mentioned that “students can look forward to 28-29 employers offering opportunities for internship, freelance work, part-time jobs, full-time jobs, summer jobs, and volunteer experiences.”

Students with additional questions are encouraged to visit Career Services.
