The Campus Activities Board (CAB) hosted a Lofi Lounge last Wednesday, October 16th, for students to relax and get in some extra studying in during midterm week. The Downbeat’s usual bustling atmosphere became calming as Lofi music quietly played and coffee, hot cocoa, and cookies were served.

The event isn’t just about the music but also includes activities for students to clear their minds. Some activities included coloring, puzzles, and a stress ball-making station, which Business Administration major Sabrina Bone declared “stressful.” However, Bone appreciated her Lofi Lounge experience, saying, “I think it’s so relaxing. I made some new friends. I just sat at the table, and a bunch of people came over, and it was fun. It was so interesting, but it’s really calming.”

The event gives students a chance to take a break in the middle of one of the busiest weeks of the semester. Film & TV major Ethan Sing liked the Downbeat’s transformation and vibe. “It’s nice just to sit here, draw, listen to music, study, do homework. I think it’s an opportunity to do all those things in a public space, which is normally not common. So, I really like it.”
