EARLY MARCH SGA UPDATE

On Wednesday, March 8th, an Open Student Government Association (SGA) meeting took place in the Downbeat Cafe. SGA VP Jeff Kramer highlights the key takeaways.

5 Items for FTC Students to Know:

  1. The SGA Executive Board updated the group on their recent meeting with FTC President Dr. David Cohen.  Items discussed included food services and a possible new Fader’s Fitness Center location.
  2. Mark your calendars! Campus Activities Board (CAB) Vice President Tyler Justafort highlighted upcoming events, including the Fuchsia Fashion Show on March 23rd and the Spring Formal on April 14th.
  3. All Clubs/Organizations that were present discussed their proposed future events. The Audio Club is interested in collaborating with multiple academic departments and clubs, specifically the Sports Broadcasting Club, on a possible dodgeball tournament broadcast. Be on the lookout for a Billiards Club tournament as well!
  4. Seeking Senators: SGA announced that Academic Senators would be chosen from each academic division to be part of SGA.
  5. Need community service hours? There are opportunities for students to help at the Long Island Media Arts Festival, usher for upcoming shows and concerts, and set up and break down the CAB Fuchsia Fashion Show.

Open Items:

  • Representatives feel there should be more 1 to 1 club meetings each semester.
  • New student photos should be used around the Five Towns College hallways.

The Next SGA Open Meeting is Before Spring Break:

  • Tuesday, March 28th, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm (Common Hour) in the Downbeat Café.
