Amid the stressful and studious week of midterms, FTC students were able to find a chill escape at CAB’s [Campus Activities Board] Lo-Fi Lounge, hosted in the FTC Library. The event offered students more than just a relaxing lounge experience with soothing Lo-Fi music but also provided loungers with a cozy atmosphere filled with a plethora of sweet and salty snacks, drinks, and a fidget toy of their choosing, all to help lighten up students during midterms with a much-needed break.

“This event is a chill, cool vibe for people to study, but also to just decompress and do a crossword puzzle, coloring, and regular puzzles as well as study if they’d like to do that. It’s really important because midterms week is very, very stressful, so we just wanted the students to be able to relax a little in the middle of the week so they can continue for the rest of it,” said CAB President and Theater Arts major, Egypt Dozier

Calm vibes weren’t the only thing that the Lo-Fi lounge provided. Students had the opportunity to unwind in a variety of ways. From coloring pages to brain games and crosswords to even puzzles, there was a little bit of everything for everyone looking to ease their mind. For those still looking into studying, the lounge was a perfect environment to blend productivity and tranquility.

Alyssa Gerasci, an Audio and Performance major, spoke about the peacefulness of the event, saying, “This is really nice. They’ve got snacks and fidget toys, which is really nice. I got the stress ball, which is colorful. It’s actually pretty relaxing. I don’t have a lot of studying left to do, so this is just like a nice break in an otherwise kind of chaotic week.”

As midterms are wrapping up, don’t forget to treat yourself to a well-deserved break this weekend. Monday starts the second half of the Spring 2025 semester.
