The PCLI Media Awards Banquet and 50th Anniversary Celebration will be held on Thursday, June 13th at The Fox Hollow in Woodbury at 6pm. Five Towns College students and faculty will attend the event.
“I’m so excited that our students’ hard work is being recognized. It’s the first year we’ve had a couple of radio finalists, so that’s also exciting. Plus, I’m glad that our students get a chance to meet and hear about some of the best journalists on Long Island, ” said Mass Communications Department Chair Holli Haerr.
Five Towns students Meghan Tinelli, Aaron McLaughlin, Vanessa Tewes, James Miller, and Daniel Garcia are finalists for their video news packages.

Both are recent FTC graduates who produced stories on topics of interest to them. “This project is special to me because music is something I’m truly passionate about. Music has always been a huge part of my life and journey and has shaped me into the person I am today. Finding out I was nominated for a PCLI award was an exciting moment.
