SPRING 2023 CLUB FAIR SHOWCASES THE MANY ‘SWEET’ CLUBS AT FTC

The Upbeat was filled with students, music, and lot of hot chocolate.  Mass Comm student Patrick DePace said, “I really liked that it takes all of the different clubs that are here at Five Towns and brings them together and gives people the opportunity to join them if the wish or even just to know more about them.”

Campus Activities Coordinator Natalie Allouche agreed that the Club Fair was a great event because “everyone was able to get all of the traction for their clubs and everyone seemed to enjoy it, especially the hot chocolate.”

Esports Coach and FTC student, Matthew DeJesus, is looking for students who want to compete at their favorite video games. “The Esports team is a growing club and we’re bringing Esports back to FTC,” said DeJesus.

Five Town’s NYSSMA Collegiate Chapter is run by Anthony Crivillaro and Zoe Kolodny.  Kolodny said that the group is “filled with hard working musicians and aims for students to develop musical skills in teaching and performance.”

The Rainbow Room is giving out flags along with rainbow M&M toppings. Kati Kastaros said, “We are an LGBT support club that is a lot of fun.  We are a safe space for people who are LGBT and allies of LGBT people.  We also teach and educate about the LGBT experience so that we as a community can get a better understanding of the LGBT experience.”

The FTC Film Society is run by Alex Nachman, Brianna Hunter, and Marc Cadou.  Nachman told the Record Online “Our mission is to truly immerse ourselves in the art of film and its creation. This also included in-depth analysis.  Over the last few semesters, we’ve built a tight knit group of individuals who are passionate about film and all it entails.”

The FTC Audio Club is looking for musicians, singers, and others who want to get involved in the FTC 50th Anniversary Album.  Club President Ryan DeSantis said “the second meeting [of the semester] will be held on Wednesday, March 1st at 5pm in Studio B.”

The FTC Business Club just hosted the successful Artists Being Artists event last week and is producing two panel events in March for Women’s History Month.  Club Treasurer Bella Green invites students to “join our Business Club meetings on Tuesdays at 12:30 PM to come learn more about business.”

New 2023 Club alert!  James Miller, one of the founders of the Sports Broadcasting Club, is “looking to give students experience in what it’s like to run a professional sports broadcast.”

Tyler Justafort from the Campus Activities Board (CAB) wants interested students to know that “CAB is the gateway for people with ideas.”  The board encourages students to come to them with ideas.  CJ Tarrats said that the “Fuchsia Fashion show will be on March 23rd and students should look out for information on the Spring Formal and huge music festival, FTC Fest, for the campus to enjoy.”

Five Towns Student Government Association (SGA) is the voice of the student body.  Vice President Jeff Kramer said, “If any students have concerns or feedback, come to SGA.”

The Spring 2023 Club Fair has begun in the Upbeat Cafe.  Thirteen clubs are here to recruit new members and spread the word about their missions.
