Cheyney’s Kian Nixon hits winning shot to give Cheyney University a 73-71 win over Five Towns College.

Cheyney calls a time out after Eian Williams drains a 3 to tie the game, 71-71, with 10.5 seconds to play.

The Cheyney University of Pennsylvania Wolves are coached by Terrell Stokes. Sophomore Forward Kian Nixon, averaging 10.5/ppg, gave his perspective on the game. “We always want to come out with the win, play sound basketball, fast basketball, and just rebound, play defense and play the right way.”

The Sound won their first game of 2023 on January 14th.  They beat the Culinary Institute of America 89-23 at home. However, FTC Head Coach Gregg Drzal doesn’t know what to expect from tonight’s game.  “We are very hurt and injured right now, only dressing seven kids.  We’re just going out to play to see what happens.”

The Sound and the Cheyney Wolves warm-up in the Sound Arena. Five Towns Sophomore Guard Eian Williams is ready for the game, saying, “We are expecting to play hard as a team, work together, and come out with the W.”
