While Robinson Treacher was playing, one of today’s bloggers, James Suckle, got the opportunity to TD (Technical Direct) the broadcast.
He says, “It’s a fun experience—very high-paced and gets your adrenaline flowing.”
A Technical Director (TD) is the one pressing the buttons to switch between camera angles, graphics, and video feeds in real time. “You’re coordinating with the entire crew to make sure the live show looks smooth on screen. Overall, it was a great experience,” he added.

Orchyd opened up the Five Towns College Stage on Saturday. This rock group from Long Island formed in 2020. Their style blends elements of classic, indie, and psychedelic rock to create blooming soundscapes, from hard-hitting, frenetic jams to ethereal, hypnotic grooves. Orchyd guitarist Tony Volgher is a Five Towns College alum so it was especially cool to see him perform on stage.
FTC Alum and Photographer Kate Miller ’25 took some cool pics of the band.
Here’s a peak of Orchyd. To watch the full set, head to the FTC Mass Comm livestream.
After their set, the band stopped by to chat with the FTC Sound Stream.
