FTC students prep Performing Arts Center for upgrades
These hands-on production skills will be a key part of Five Towns College's new Production Design B.F.A. Program, which kicks off in Fall 2026.
FTC students are working hard this summer to prepare the college’s Performing Arts Center (PAC) for upgrades. PAC Technical Director/Professor Joe Kenny is currently leading a student team to update the lighting and wiring. Kenny gave this summer’s Photojournalism class a behind-the-scenes look into the process.

FTC student David Culross enjoys this experience and looks forward to gaining more knowledge and skills as he works towards his B.F.A. in Five Town College’s new Production Design Program, which kicks off in Fall 2026. Culross said he values “all of the hands-on work that goes into these spaces and productions.”
The new Production Design B.F.A. Program will teach students how “to bring ideas to life across stage, film, live events, and media through a production-driven approach that integrates design, construction, and collaboration.”
