Five Towns College Campus Events kicked off the first full week of the semester on September 9th with a night of suspense with Big Ticket Bingo in the Downbeat.
Students participated in four competitive rounds where they had to mark their boards with the letters F-T-C in rounds one through three, with the last round being full blackout Bingo [filling the whole board].
With a night full of thrills and excitement, students competed enthusiastically for the big prizes:
Round 1: FTC merch bag, which included a hat, long-sleeve shirt, and sunglasses.
Round 2: Amazon Echo Glow
Round 3: Polaroid camera [with film included].
Final Round: Nintendo Switch console
Film and Television major Tahina Petion won the final round and took home the coveted Nintendo Switch, saying, “I feel so excited, very excited! I didn’t expect to win. I don’t know; my heart was racing at the last second!”
Assistant Dean for Campus Life, Michael Cavalli, who called out the numbers for the second half of the evening, enjoyed the drama of announcing Bingo. “It is exhilarating when it finally comes to happen! The pressure point happens in a room when you get close to that. That’s why I add things like asking people who’s three away, who’s two away, who’s one away. The way that just builds tension into the game and you kind of slow it down as it moves along. It adds to the excitement!”
Cavalli and Natalie Allouche [Student Activities Coordinator] mentioned the possibility of another Bingo night happening sometime in November. FTC students can stay up to date with campus activities and events through their FTC emails and are encouraged to follow the @FTC_Events account on Instagram for more information.
