FRIENDSGIVING
THE FTC RADIO CLUB KICKS OFF THE HOLIDAY SEASON
By Sean Lanigan ’22
On Tuesday, November 23rd, The FTC Radio Club hosted its first annual Friendsgiving gathering in the Downbeat Café during Common Hour. The occasion included Radio Club members and plenty of Kentucky Fried Chicken, drinks, and even a coconut custard pie for the big feast.
The highlight of the gathering occurred when everyone went around the table and discussed what they were thankful for here at Five Towns College:
Jacob Bila: “I’m thankful for my family and all of the friends I have made in the Theatre department at Five Towns College, all of the friends I have made since switching majors to Mass Communications and being able to work on a bunch of projects with those same friends.”
Rebecca Evangelist: “I’m thankful for my family and friends and being able to attend a college that has an ESPORTS team. I love playing ESPORTS.”
Manny Vazquez: “I’m thankful for my family and all of the friends I have made here at Five Towns College.”
Kody Mackey: “I’m thankful for my family and friends, and being able to be a volunteer member of the Ronkonkoma Fire Department in order to continue to help people in need.”
John Maturo: “I’m thankful for my family and all of my friends here in the Mass Communications department at Five Towns College who have helped me out a great deal so far. I am looking forward to now doing shows and contributing to our FM Radio Station W258FX.”
It truly was an event of laughter, feasting, and expressing gratitude. Thanksgiving is one of the best times of the year, even though for me, to quote Sally Brown from A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, “I haven’t even finished eating all of my Halloween Candy!”
